Refugee support agencies work in partnership with federal resettlement programs to help refugees when they first arrive in a new country. They give support during the initial resettlement period and help newcomers achieve self-sufficiency. Their goal is to help refugees feel safe and welcome.

Catholic Charities
Catholic Charities provides services to eligible government-approved refugees from all backgrounds, including assistance with public benefits and financial needs, in addition to employment.
The CWS Houston office is dedicated to collaborative and sustainable, trauma-responsive programming which supports immigrants, asylum seekers, unaccompanied children and other new arrival, mixed migration populations.
ECDC Houston Multicultural Center, creates pathways to self-sufficiency for the underserved, including special services for refugees and immigrants through training, employment, and essential support services tailored to their unique needs.

ICNA Relief
ICNA Relief, approved by the U.S. Department of State, offers resettlement services to refugees, connecting them to community resources and providing support through case management, cultural orientation, and mental health counseling. We collaborate with other organizations to strengthen resettlement efforts and help refugees adjust to life in the U.S.

Interfaith Ministries
for Greater Houston
IM Houston’s Refugee Services helps our newest neighbors attain self-sufficiency and integrate into their new lives. Services begin with meeting basic needs, then working with families to maintain self-sufficiency and become upwardly mobile.
